Research Project Topic Selection

Here are the parameters for your first post.

Remember topics should be unique, so be sure to read through the responses before yours both to add to your understand of the project's concept and also to determine if your topic has already been selected.

If you are unable to sufficiently answer these questions, you may have to chose an alternative topic.

1. Briefly summarize your topic. How does it capture the concept of cultural hysteria?

2. In addition to the provided research questions, what questions will you ask when researching this topic?  What else intrigues you about your topic?

3. Describe your research process. Where will you begin? What types of sources will you use? What are the criteria for choosing and evaluating the quality of those sources? If you get stuck, h
ow might you refine or narrow your search for information or sources related to this topic?

  1. My topic: Feminism

    1. Feminism is equality for all genders, male, female, and other. Feminism captures the concept of cultural hysteria because of how people compare feminists to Nazis, calling them feminazis. People think feminists are the cause of problems and like to blame them on a lot of things. Rape is getting out of hand because of the lack of gender equality, as well.

    2. Why do people react the way they do towards feminists? Why is gender equality such a hard thing to achieve? Why do humans have to feel superior with most everything?

    3. I'll start by looking up examples of anxiety within and out of the feminist community as well as the antagonists to the feminist community. I will use liable sources. If they do not have a .com they are reliable. I will try to refrain from using opinions because they aren't facts.

  2. My Topic- The Apocalypse

    1. The apocalypse apocalypse apocalypse the theme of the end of the world. This captures the concept of cultural hysteria because most (if not all) cultures and belief systems have a view of the end of the world and when the people of that belief go into panic because the world is ending which then causes the rest of the world to flip out.

    2. Why do humans find the end of the world so fascinating? Why don't people live in the present?

    3. I will look in religious texts, recent history, and also into the reactions of people in say 2012. I will use multiple sources including News media. I will refrain from writing about my opinion

  3. My topic - Communism

    1. The threat of communism includes the cold war, and how America was terrified that communists might take over our country and our freedoms. This captures cultural hysteria because it was a time when Americans were mostly focused on the threat of Russia and communism, and how fast it was spreading. It was a threat from Russia's power and from the new politic, communism, the opposite of democracy.

    2. Why was communism such a threat to Americans? Why did countries choose communism? Who invented communism? How did Russians feel about Communism? I like this topic because it involves a period that I found most interesting and fun to study to.

    3. I will begin in famous and well used history sites. I will also use textbooks and library books to help me get general facts straight. I will choose my criteria based on strength and fact. I will read the criteria first before using it, to understand the meaning of it. If I get stuck I will narrow my search down to the affect communism had on America.

  4. My topic: Police brutality

Police Brutality is the use of excessive/ unnecessary force by police when dealing with civilians. Police brutality demonstrates cultural hysteria because we have people that you're supposed to respect and look up to beating up on people if they do not do what they say. So humans go into hysteria when thinking someone in power could hurt them.

Why do citizens always fear people in power? Why when a police man accidentally hurt someone of another race do people say it was on purpose?

At the beginning I will look through past events in history where brutality has happened. I will make sure each site is reliable which means no Wikipedia and only facts not opinions of others. I will look through old history books!

  5. My Topic-Technology

    1. This topic focuses on the strange belief that technology will become smarter than humans and take over like in the Terminator or Matrix. It seems impossible that something humans create could breach our mental capacity, but if machines can outsmart humans they will surely reign supreme.Everyday technology improves so eventually it will become smarter than us. This is what gives people hysteria.

    2. Why don’t people who worry so much about a technological apocalypse create a way to prevent it? Is the risk of machines taking over worth all of our technological improvements? How could we prevent a technological apocalypse?

    3. I will start on websites that explain how this could happen and also look for sources with ways to prevent it. Then I will research how smart technology really is and how close the world could be to a technology takeover. I will refrain from writing my opinion because I think people hysteria over this is plain crazy, but who knows anything is possible.

  6. My topic: Scapegoating in sports

    1. My topic will focus on sports fan's choosing to blame one player, coach or even fan for the failure of their team. This scapegoating often ruins athletes careers or in Steve Bartman's case, his life. I will focus on why fans care so much about their team winning and why someone has to be blamed.

    2. Why do fans care so much about their team? Why do fans choose to blame one person for the collapse of their team? Do fans realize that they are effecting the scapegoat's life?

    3. I will start by looking at cases of scapegoating in sports over the internet. Also there is a documentary on one of the most famous scapegoats, Steve Bartman, which I plan to watch.

  7. My Topic is Nuclear Warfare

    1. Nuclear Warfare is the use of Nuclear weapons in war and combat. Nuclear weapons are extremely destructive and if used improperly could cause serious damage to the Earth, including causing Nuclear winters, making large areas inhabitable for long periods of time, or in the most extreme of possibilities, Nuclear Apocalypse. Nuclear warfare captures the concept of cultural hysteria just as the apocalypse does, nuclear warfare could cause serious damage to everything. When one country uses a nuclear weapon, the country it is being used on is bound to fight back, which could cause a bad chain reaction leading to a nuclear apocalypse.

    2. Why does America have such a surplus of nuclear weapons? What is next in nuclear technology or bomb technology? How well are we taking care of our nuclear warheads in the United States? I am intrigued by the pure destructive potential we have sitting in silos in the US.

    3. My research process will begin with researching nuclear weapons and basically what they can do. Then I will proceed to find out how many nuclear warheads are in the world and specifically the United States. I will use only reliable sources, for example books or sites that end with “.gov” or “.edu”. I will choose facts to use in my paper if they are stated to be true from at least two or more of my sources, from websites to books. If I get stuck I will narrow down my topic to specifically deal with nuclear weapons in the United States.

  8. My topic: Anthrax scares
    1. Soon after the events of 9/11, people in the US began to receive anthrax spores in their mail. Anthrax spores are a type of bacteria that cause a serious infection in the lungs, skin and bowels and is considered to be very deadly. If anthrax is inhaled, the death rate is approximately 75%.
The anthrax scare was very unnerving for people, because after 9/11, something as routine and simple as opening their mail was something they could add to the list of things terrorists might use to start another attack on the US.

    2. Is the spreading of anthrax more of a threat domestically or of an international terrorist attack? Now that we have more resources to contain anthrax and we have the necessary means of helping those who are affected by the poison, will the country be less afraid, more afraid, or equally afraid? Will the US ever use anthrax as a means of warfare?-Will we ever use it during war?

    3. I will begin by searching through approved sites that have justifications for their information and it is the right information for my topic and I will also use the necessary encyclopedias as well as other books from the library. In order to choose the right resources, I will use sources like easybib.com that show the trustworthy sites from the hoax ones and sites that end “.org” and “.gov” because those are the most official and goverment approved ones. And if I get stuck I will narrow my search by crossing off all of the unrelated or abstract topics that go with my research by asking myself, “Is this crucial to the paper, or is it just gilding the lily?”

  9. My topic: Dystopian Genre
    1. Ever since the fifties, the dystopian genre has been rising in popularity. Books, films, music, video games, and many other forms of entertainment portraying the future as an empty, destructive world poisoned by corruption, pollution, or totalitarianism seem to be everywhere. In other words? People are becoming obsessed with the idea of collapse and dystopian futures. The concept of cultural hysteria is captured in this way because of the current decline of the world economy, government, and peace. To people all over the world, collapse seems imminent, and they put their fears of this scenario into the dystopian genre. People want to see these fears defeated by a protagonist that rises up again oppression, which is what is commonly seen in this genre.

2.In addition to the provided research questions, I will also be asking questions such as, “What cultural anxieties form the protagonist”, “Is there anything people want to see from the protagonist?”, and “What do I find so compelling about this genre?”, ect. I’m mostly intrigued by all the factors that go into each representation of dystopia and how that world is portrayed.

3.I’ll begin the research process by looking up what is popular in the dystopian genre. What movies, books, comics, video games, and all of that are trending. This reflects the current state of mind. Then I’ll look for something connecting them. What are the shared themes and motifs? What do the protagonists have in common? How are the worlds alike? I’ll probably use websites for theater business, bookstores, library, as well as referencing data graphs that can probably be found somewhere on the web. If it looks reliable and well-maintained, and has been updated in the past year, then it’s likely a reliable source. If I get stuck, I might shrink my search down to just popular dystopian movies rather than all media.

  10. My Topic-- Childhood Safety and Over-protection

    1. With the instantaneously accessible information and the tendencies of the media to overemphasize the negative aspects of modern culture, the new generation of parents has had a very different outlook on childhood safety than prior generations. The current generation of parents is significantly more anxious and overprotective, obsessing over their child's health, safety within the community, and mental an educational development. This parental hysteria has made parents exceedingly overprotective of their children who have intern faced increased dependency and struggles individualizing.

    2. I will research more of the negativity of of over-protection, including anxiety disorders, physical health consequences, the ability to perform independently etc. What is intriguing to me is the irony of the situation because the parents try to do everything to protect their children from any harmful exposure, but it comes at a cost that parents might not realize.

    3. I will begin researching this by talking with professionals in the fields of development and psychology including my parents, then I will begin to research the general topics validating them by making sure several credible sites have the same information. Then I will go into more of the specifics provided by the prior websites and continue my research from there. If I happen to get stuck, I'll go back to more general topics until I find something that works.

  11. My Topic: Healthier Dietary Lifestyle

    1. A healthier dietary lifestyle captures the concept of cultural hysteria because, there has been movement sweeping throughout the country for a more nutritious diet. Numerous cases have been surfacing that involve dietary allergies, as well as many people who limit meat and animal by-products within their diet. Michelle Obama has also campaigned for incorporating balanced and nutritious meals for children during the school day. Fad diets are in trend with all the latest celeb diets and holidays creeping up on us.

    2. Why is there a sudden change in the way we eat? Where is this mainly affecting people? Who are the people that are mainly doing the dietary changes? What would cause someone to change their diet? There has always been a subculture of becoming healthier through eating, now that we are “plugged in” with more social media, are we just now understanding how many are becoming a part of this?

    3. I will start researching my project by surfing websites, reading through the paper, and using magazines for information on this topic. I may ask people who have first hand experience or watch videos for further detail. Furthering the study, trying to understand why one would change their food consumption whether it be for allergy purposes, health, or other ways. If there is a point I get stuck I will research more and try to get different resources.

  12. My Topic: Social stratification

    1. Since the beginning of civilization, people have wondered about social stratification. They wonder where they fall on the cultural pyramid and if it is better to “fit in” or to “fall out” of that pyramid. Social stratification is the belief in one’s social character and the will to keep their place in society. Sometimes that means denying the poisons of the world, or accepting them and denying themselves to fit in with society. This social hysteria is captured by the fear that people indulge in simply based off their place in society. Social stratification may fluctuate easily and that is why it controls people with a great amount of power, especially when it can be used to pick out the “scapegoats” in society.

    2. In addition to the other research questions I will ask questions such as, What events have taken place that are an effect of social stratification? Can social stratification be stopped, if so how? Does anyone benefit from social stratification and who are those who are affected by it? Could social stratification be the downfall of society? My topic is also intriguing because it is one lesser known topic even though; it is right in front of us nearly every day. I also think this topic has an almost direct link with The Crucible, which will provide great textual evidence of how social stratification is seen throughout the world.

    3. My research will begin with finding out some basic background information in the field of sociology and the specific topic of social stratification. This background knowledge will help me to be able to decipher important facts of evidences I come across on in my research that relate to a higher level of knowledge in this field. I will use various study-based websites as well as books that are written on this topic to find my evidence. The sources that I use must be verified between a minimum of 2-3 relatable websites/texts. I will also make sure that the authors of those texts are reliable and have a background in sociology and/or the study of social stratification. Refining my research will consist of only describing the social stratification apparent in the past and present of the United States. I will also make my report as fact based as possible by restraining from imputing my personal opinions on the topic.

  13. My Topic: Dangers of the Internet

Although you don’t typically see the type of bullying that the magic of movies care to show us, such as swirlies, beatings, being shoved into lockers and others, it still happens all around us. Only now bullying occurs through the internet or snide remarks here and there. Bullying can even be perceived as exclusion or misunderstanding. Our school experienced the school violence that came from a sense of bullying. The cultural hysteria that comes from this is paranoia, or the constant reminder of internet safety. Because now kids have access to each other even when they are hundreds of miles apart. Growing up as a student there have been numerous times when speakers were invited into the classroom to remind us to not participate in internet bullying. There is little protection from these people since they can access you through social media, and find out all about you. Therefore, people are concerned that the people who want to harm others in any sort of way can better conceal or mask themselves from behind a screen. Also, the internet isn’t always secure. Celebrities personal information is often leaked, and there was also the huge WikiLeaks that went on. Not only could people be in danger, but their private information like call records, credit records, addresses, anything can be accessed.

How can we tell online that someone is not who they seem? Are the current privacy settings on social media private enough? Who has access to our private accounts other than the people we give permission? How can internet safety be changed? I’m also intrigued by apps such as snapchat. Do the pictures we send to friends really disappear, or where are they stored?

I’ll start my research by looking for the many social based programs that are used daily. I’ll look into their security measures and any mistakes made. I’ll look into events of internet bullying or stalking and reactions to leaked information. If I get stuck I’ll look into more events that demonstrated the weaknesses of the internet. I want to understand why there isn’t more security throughout the web.

  14. My Topic: Immigration

Immigration has caused uneasiness on many Americans, particularly ones in the southwest and near the American-Mexican border. These Americans have fears of their jobs being taken away and given to illegal immigrants because these immigrants make competition for work due to the fact that they work for a lot less money. Americans also feel that crime may go up as the immigrants come in likely because they come from a place that is poor and has a larger crime rate. Americans also don’t like how immigrants use tax dollars for their own good when they contribute little to no money.

Some questions I would explore include: Why are Americans so insecure about their jobs and feel that others aren’t entitled to participate in a fair game job market? What evidence do Americans have to go off of that prove that immigrants use up their tax dollars? Do immigrants not contribute much to the economy? Is there more crime in areas where immigrants usually settle?

To start my research I would try to find statistics about the job market and whether or not immigrants actually take away a significant amount of jobs. I would also look up the crime rate in different areas of the U.S. and pay attention to the demographics of who is committing the crime. I would also try to find information perhaps from a U.S. census to find if immigrants are using a large amount of tax dollars. I would find alot of this information from news and magazine articles because this is a fairly recent topic. I could also find information on people’s stances on the topic. Another valuable source would be politicians standpoints on the topics that could be found in debates from recent elections. If needed I could also explore job outsourcing and racism/ hate crimes towards Mexican immigrants or Mexicans in general.

  15. Topic: Media Hype: a source and conduit for cultural hysteria: on one side of the spectrum we have people who invest very little trust in the media while others are excessively impressionable by limited sources; (blowing things out of proportion or twisting the truth)

Society walks with one eye closed and because of this its depth perception has been sacrificed for a partial reality which we have all willingly bought into. It is a reality of half truths and white lies which run on the surface of deeper social turmoil and the bottomless hole of human emotion. With barely a second thought, the collective population indulges in the panic perpetuated by news broadcasts because they communicate on an emotional level and use hyperbole to milk the story for all its worth. Though this constant bombardment of reports and updates is proof of the global scale of international communication and expansive data sources, an impressive accomplishment no doubt, it also indicates the panic driven psychology of the human mind. Unfortunately, there is no certain method to ensure credibility despite the massive capabilities of human communication over great distances. Words are twisted, meanings changed, facts overlooked. People are known to respond to high pressure, whether negatively or positively, and by giving the public a thick steak of a story to chew on, the media plays to the natural human behavior of inserting themselves into an issue. If people believe their lives as they know it are at stake, they are sure to pay attention. Self preservation is motivation to act.

We put too much pressure and too much trust on distant sources when to fully comprehend the magnitude of an event, there is nothing to compare to direct experience. Photos on a screen, even video footage pale in comparison to up and close contact with a war or epidemic, etc.. It is news if it’s on the tv screen and sometimes we can muster pity or sympathy, but more often it is somebody else’s problem. So I ask: Why is personal connection so powerful while distance can create an equal if not greater amount of disconnect?/Is empathy a matter of proximity? Empathy=close, sympathy=farther and farther away… How should we define quality information? Does it incite emotion? Public action? Is it fairly clean of bias and opinion? With information should we judge quality over quantity or is quantity quality? (in terms of making educated opinions)

research: include statistics of error in news reports; time frame? such as after the shooting; how long to get the facts straight? and can we measure fact and bias? I have identified myself as a journalist for the school newspaper, and this connection to a small scale branch of media has provided a basic insight into the inner workings of how information is distributed. There is also the option of researching news sites for reports concerning the same material and see how they compare: how much do they have in common? angles, perspective, etc.

  16. My topic: Sharks
    1. Particularly since the release of the movie Jaws in seventies, people have been irrationally afraid of sharks. This hysteria has lead to a significant decrease in shark populations across the globe due primarily to hunting, finning, and shark nets.
    2. Why are people more afraid of sharks than other predators? How has humans views of sharks changed over time? What is the root of this fear? How much danger do sharks actually pose to humans? How much danger do humans pose to sharks? What are the immediate and long term effects of the decrease of sharks in our oceans?
    3. I will start my research by searching both the cause of shark-phobia and the repercussions of this fear. I will use reliable sources for my research, I will check my resources by verifying my facts with multiple sources. If I get stuck I will narrow my search specifically to how Jaws changed the world’s view of sharks.

  17. My Topic: Popularity

    1. Popularity is a problem with people of all ages, especially teens. It is a problem in every culture, religion, race, you name it. So many people have anxieties about being popular and fitting in that it is hard for people to enjoy themselves. This topic will focus on what causes this cultural anxiety and what you can do to cope with it.

    2. Some questions that I would ask in addition to the provided questions include, how do people overcome the pressures of popularity? How do the pressures vary in correlation with the age groups? How should one learn to stop the habit of using labels? This topic really intrigues me because it is a part of everyone’s life regardless of the situation. Not many people narrow their ideas to popularity so I chose this topic to try and do just that. I am also really intrigued by this topic because of the mentalism. There are so many things that people could overcome if they can get past the mental part of it.

    3. I will begin my research process by looking up articles on the study of teen popularity. Once I find the gist of that section as that will be the focus of my study, I will move on to broader topics. I plan to do most of my research online but I will also do my best to find physical text that I can find information in and reference. I want to focus my research on professional studies so I know that I am getting certified information. If I get stuck, I might narrow my search to social anxiety or focus more on teen popularity.

  18. Topic: School bullying and violence

Over the past few years, bullying and school violence has become a very prevalent subject. There are so many kids in every single school all around that gets bullied one way or another. There are so many different types of bullying. There is physical violence, but there is also emotional and verbal harassment. The kids in today’s generation have a lot more access to social media that enables them to bully other kids over media as well. School violence is also a big problem that needs to be fixed. Bullying has always been an issue throughout every generation, but today’s culture has the ability to make a change and put a stop to this problem.

The topic of bullying arises many questions. The first question that I ask is, “why?” Why do people be mean to other people? It is extremely difficult to make kids be nice to each other. Anyone can tell kids to be kind and to treat others the way they are treated but ultimately it is those kids’ decision. Another question I have is, “how?” How do we stop the bullying? Bullying falls right into the category of cultural hysteria! People become extremely emotional due to what others say. So many people are desperate for love and due to that desperation they tend to beat other people up to get some kind of satisfaction. I would really want to research what drives this generation especially to get some of their satisfaction from hurting others.

To start off my research, I am going to try to look at surveys of people who were bullied or kids who were involved in a school violence. I would like to see the background of what their situation was to know where I can narrow down my scope for my topic and what view point I would like to take. I also want to look at the numbers of people who were bullied 20 years ago compared to now. I want to see how this generation has affected bullying and school violence in general. I want to see the number difference of how many school crimes are committed in different parts of the world and see if there are more prevalent places that crime is committed in schools. I really just want to research so many different aspects of this topic and then from there narrow down how I can relate it to today’s culture hysteria.

  19. My topic: Communism

    1. Communism is a political beliefs system. The beliefs are that the state contols all property in a classless society. Russia was a prominent communist country. During the Cold War when America was at odds with Russia anyone associated with communism was ostracized. If you said anything that could have been taken as sympathetic towards communism you could have been put on a black list ruining your life.

    2. Why was America's fear of communism so extreme that we would sometimes kill people who might be communist? What finally caused an end to the decades long feud? Was America afraid of communism or Russia?

    3. I'll research the contributing factors of the Cold War and the people who caused the mass hysteria about communism. I'll use educational cites and I will make sure that the cites aren't biased.

  20. Cheating in sports

In the past century, villains and heroes have appeared out of the sporting word, but among these villains are the ones that cheat and crook their way to greatness, before they are torn down after their sins are leaked ti the public. Hysteria rises because of the betrayal and deception of a team, a fan base, and a city. Today, professional athletes are almost portrayed as gods by the public. When they cheat, the fans feel cheated as well.

Why? This question is asked to many players who have cheated in the sporting world. What motivates them to betray the game they love? How does cheating change the view upon the player, or team? This topic intrigues me because the world of baseball is well known to have players to defy rules. Many players have recently been found using steroids to enhance the way they play.
    3. Describe your research process. Where will you begin? What types of sources will you use? What are the criteria for choosing and evaluating the quality of those sources? If you get stuck, how might you refine or narrow your search for information or sources related to this topic?
I will most likely begin with examples such as Pete Rose and Alex Rodriguez. After explaining what they did to defy rules, I will research how the public reacted. Did they believe his actions were justifiable? His punishment? The most important topic I will look into will be the public reaction and the hysteria and controversy it causes.

  21. My Topic: Big Data

    1. Big Data refers to the collection of quite large and complex sets of data, that are difficult to measure. Specifically referring to the actions conducted by the private sector (mostly large businesses) and the government, the public has been stuck into a sort of hysteria, worrying that their privacy is dissipating and claiming that Big Brother knows too much. The majority of businesses collecting big data, like Google, Facebook, and Amazon, are found to also sell their collected data to the government, and with the recent release of the NSA recording of phone calls, the people are baffled with the relatively new knowledge that their data, whether on the internet or on their phones, is being filed and sorted. Big Brother may in fact be watching, and even more than ever before.

    2. How much data is being collected? How much is actually being monitored? How is this information being used and why is it important? How many Americans are concerned about their digital privacy? I myself am torn in the Big Data dispute because there are some really fascinating things that can be done with Big Data, but I also cherish my privacy, and, I must confess, I too am slightly paranoid about all the information they hold on me. That is why I am so drawn toward this hot topic. It can be awesome yet totally eerie.

    3. Since it is a current cultural anxiety in America it may be hard to find reliable sources. Yet, the best thing I can do is to try to find multiple sources from both common media sites, like Wikipedia, a Big Data collector themselves, and some more questionable websites as well. I will start with the search for those questions above and see where it leads me. If, however, I am to get stuck, I’ll just focus on the paranoia and hysteria of the public and spur off from there.

  22. My topic: Japanese treatment after Pearl Harbor
During the events of WW2 when Japan decided to attack U.S. soil on December 7th 1941 it caused a huge change in the social structure in America. Now anything that had a Japanese origins or anything that was from that region was deemed not safe and had to be dealt with in sometimes not very humane ways. Not only was the Japanese Americans where affected, but so where average Americans with an infection known as paranoia.
    Questions
Was there any way to avoid causing so much damage to people that had Japanese decent?
    How was the economy effected?
    What was the justifications?
How was the living conditions of the camps?
Was there ever a aftermath that involved a apology?
With my research I plant to use very reliable resources followed up by multiple sites to verify the validity of the facts that I am researching. If my ideas come to a stop and I can't continue my research I will narrow down the confusion by watching documentaries on the Japanese American relationship.

  23. My Topic - How Media Creates a Fearful, Paranoid Culture.

    1. Media is a huge part of everyones life today, and therefore affects people in many different and often surprising ways. One of the most dangerous affects of being able to communicate so easily with anyone in the world, is that Americans are constantly being exposed to all the bad events happening around the world. Because of the constant reminders that bad things are happening, it creates a cultural hysteria where everyone is constantly afraid of something bad happening to them. Today people are so focused on safety and making sure bad things don’t happen to them, that phrases like “be safe” have become common ways of saying good bye. Parents are so afraid of their child getting abducted or “worse”, that they are giving their children phones at earlier and earlier ages for safety. In our culture today the facade that bad things are constantly happening because of the influence of technology, the hysteria over safety has reached a boiling point.

    2. The questions I will ask while researching this topic are; Does the things we, as Americans, have done in the name of safety really made a big difference in helping keep people safe? What happens in our brain when we watch bad things that happen on the news that makes us believe we are also in danger? Do the safety blankets we use to help stifle the hysteria in our lives actually help or do they have the opposite effect? How can we learn to overcome the fears society has pressed upon us?

    3. I will start my research by finding the true facts behind things like child abduction and break-ins. I want to start this way to prove that the fears that are escalating in society today are not actually real. I also want to be able to compare the amount of violent activity there was 50 years ago compared to today. I then will start to research more of why we think that what we see on TV translates to our life today. I want to explore the negative side affects of being able to know about everything that is happening in the world. In my research I will only use very credible sources like newspaper articles, research, and books. I will make sure to check any source I use for bias because this topic can have a lot of differing opinions. If I get stuck I will re-look at my overall topic and broaden my search again to encompass more information.
